Triple witching occurs when the contracts for stock index futures, stock index options and stock options expire on the same day. Triple witching days happen four times a year on the third Friday of March, June, September and December. And And Triple Witching Hour is the last hour of the stock market trading session on that Friday (3pm to 4pm; EST).
